The Quintessence of Things

When moving from one house to another the act of packing and unpacking of your belongings makes you aware of the volume of stuff that you own. While traveling to New York and Berlin I discovered that all the possessions from the past can ground you and make you feel less free to move around.

The Quintessence of Things shows how to find the essence of your possessions, to be able to begin anew. Through cataloguing and categorizing all my belongings, I tried to figure out which objects made me unproductive and lazy and which were making me active. In the end I decided to throw away as many things as possible in order to minimize my possessions and maximize my life.
